So, have you ever feel worried about globalwarming?
Do you want to help save the planet, but you think there’s not much to do?

If you think that globalwarming is a problem only goverments and institutions have to face, then I might prove you wrong!
You’d better be aware that this is an issue everybody can contribute to solve, and if your personal behaviour becomes global awareness we could win the battle.

So, to quote John Kennedy’s famous speech ..ask not what your planet can do for you, ask what you can do for your planet!…Here is a list of ten simple things you can do to help reduce globalwarming and save the planet. At least we have to be aware in 2007 that a new approach is possible!

10 simple things to do for globalwarming awareness2007

1. Use compact energy-saving fluorescent light bulbs

Replace the most used light bulbs in your house with new enery-saving bulbs. This way you can save about 300 lbs. of carbon dioxide and also about $60 per year.

2. Inflate your car tires, check your air filter
Keep the tires on your car always inflated, and check them regularly. Also check your air filter. Your car will run better and you will save about 250 lbs. of carbon dioxide and many $$ per year.

3. Take a 4-minutes shower

Water is very precious. Some people in the world have little or no water. We need to use it wisely.
By reducing your time in the shower to four minutes, you could save over 25,000 litres a year, and also use less power to heat it.

4. Use recycled paper

Use recycled paper and save our planet’s forests. You can save up to 5 lbs. of carbon dioxide per ream of paper.

5. Adjust Your ThermostatKeep your heating down two degrees in the winter and (if you have Air Conditioning) up 2 degrees in summer. This will save 2000 lbs. of carbon dioxide and many $$ a year.

6. Buy the most energy and water efficient appliances you can afford

If in 2007 you are planning to buy a new washing machine, fridge or air conditioner then consider buying an energy or water efficient model. New energy-saver models will help you save money and electricity, thus reducing globalwarming.

7. Buy Clean Energy
If available in your country and area, please consider buying clean energy, such as wind or solar energy. This would greatly reduce pollution and globalwarming.

8. Buy a Hybrid car and use car-pooling when possible

If in 2007 you are planning to buy a new car, consider buying a hybrid or gas-powered car. Also, don’t drive alone, but try to share your car with your co-workers and friends. Finally, try to leave your car at home and walk, your health will also gain.

9. Turn off and un-plug unused electronics

Be aware that most domestic appliances, such as your computer, your hi-fi system, or video games console use energy when put in stand-by mode. Some of them use a small amount of energy even if turned off completely, so it’s a good idea to un-plug them when not in use. It’s also safer.

10. Put on a sweater

Instead of constantly turning up your house heating, wear heavier clothes, such as sweaters or fleeces.
